There are several distinctive framing systems which can be (in turn) combined into interesting and effective "hybred" methods :
- Stick-built framing
- 2x4 or 2x6 studs on 16 to 24 inch centers, fiberglass added between the studs and wall finishing hung on the inside walls.
- Post-and-beam (Timber Frame) construction in combination with SIPS (Insulated Structural Panels)
- Posts (vertical) and Beams (horizontal) are combined by mortus and tendon with insulation inside the framing and siding on outside of posts and beams.
- Log Homes
- Logs act as structural support, insulation and inside and outside wall finishing.
- A-Frame
