Technology > Construction > Methods > Framing

There are several distinctive framing systems which can be (in turn) combined into interesting and effective "hybred" methods :

  • Stick-built framing
    • 2x4 or 2x6 studs on 16 to 24 inch centers, fiberglass added between the studs and wall finishing hung on the inside walls.
  • Post-and-beam (Timber Frame) construction  in combination with SIPS (Insulated Structural Panels)
    • Posts (vertical) and Beams (horizontal) are combined by mortus and tendon with insulation inside the framing and siding on outside of posts and beams.
  • Log Homes
    • Logs act as structural support, insulation and inside and outside wall finishing.
  • A-Frame
